Wow! I have some very happy memories of Lithuanian school both as a student and teacher. I remember this photo as I still have it.

Saturdays' started early back then.
We had no car, so it we caught the bus. The first stop was in town for piano lessons at 8:00am. My sister went first, while I contemplated the reproductions of famous classical composers hanging on the walls of the waiting room.
Then another bus to Norwood, and more time to contemplate before Lithuanian Saturday School began at 10am.
My favourite class was history, in part because I really liked my teacher...Ponas Mazulis.
I was gutted when he died suddenly.
It's the first time I can recall feeling a truly meaningful loss.
Something that's hard to forget.
Overall, I have both good and bad memories of my time as a child at Eastray Street in the 1970's.
Most importantly I learnt lessons there that I could not have learnt anywhere else.
I was teased a lot by the other kids, but I survived, and feel richer and wiser for the experience.
My kids are now adults, and they didn't have this experience opportunity. I think they missed out.
I would encourage any parents of Lithuanian descent with young children, to think carefully about the possibility of taking your kids to Litho school while it continues to exist.
Without your and your children's patronage it will die out, and all that will remain is an old photo, memories, and a obscure website.
